Electronic Journals and Newsletters
What is an E-Journal?
Electronic Journals (or E-Journals) are versions of print journals that are available online
or periodicals distributed through the internet. While there are a number of commercial
journals that require subscriptions, those listed below are free.
- Community Schools
Online Newsletter seeks to "provide updates on developments in the community
schools field and the work of the Coalition [for Community Schools]." If you wish
to subscribe to the email newsletter you can
register here.
- The Future of Children
is published twice annually with the primary purpose of disseminating "timely information
on major issues related to children's well-being."
- Health and Health Care
in Schools reports on "the policies, politics and financing of health programming
in schools."
- The Maternal and
Child Health (MCH) Alert "seeks to make maternal and child health news and policy
more accessible to researchers, policymakers, advocates, teachers, and students in
the field." The online bulletin covers "research and findings, policy developments,
information about recently released publications, new programs and initiatives, and
conferences."
- The APA Monitor on Psychology: the monthly
magazine of the American Psychological Association that includes articles of interest
to professionals in mental health and/or psychological research.
- School Health Program
News "promotes the concept of coordinated school health programs" and "includes
summaries of relevant research findings, descriptions of model programs, interviews
with recognized experts in the field, and an extensive listing of available resources,
conferences, and training opportunities."
