Description: The concept of Response to Intervention is finding its way into schools with a significant push from the federal government and with a particular emphasis on reducing inappropriate diagnoses for special education. For example, as stated in the 4/20/06 U.S. Department of Education Request for Special Education Research Grants, ?RTI holds significant promise when it is conceptualized as a multi-tiered (typically three-tiers) systems approach that integrates general and special education.?
